Online Trademark Application

Those wishing to protect their business name and protect against copyright violations often apply for a trademark. A trademark can protect a company's logo and other unique images. Trademarks also make it illegal in some cases for other businesses to use a trademarked company;s identity for their own promotional purposes. Individuals or companies may trademark a specific symbol, a logo, a particular brand name, or even specific words relating to the business. An online trademark application is often used to secure a trademark. A federal filing fee must be paid in order to submit an online trademark application; in addition, some companies who offer assistance in filing online trademark applications may also charge an additional fee. In order to secure a valid and legal trademark, an online trademark application must be filed with the U.S. Trademark Office. Once approved, the Trademark Office will send an official letter notifying the applicant of the trademark approval.
