Internet Trademarks

Internet trademarks are widely used by companies as well as private individuals for e-commerce and other online activities. The rise and popularity of auction sites such as eBay have made it possible for small vendors to sell goods and services online; because of this, there is an abundance of small businesses online, which has in turn led to an abundance of trademarked items on the Internet Internet trademark infringement has in turn become an important legal issue. On the Internet, trademarks can be easily stolen, copied, or misappropriated. Through web searches and tracking programs it is possible to easily identify infringements of Internet trademarks, however stopping a trademark violation can sometimes be a difficult process. The anonymity of the Internet can cause difficulties with regard to exactly who is responsible for a trademark infringement. Usually ISPs hosting trademark infringing items will cooperate and take down any unlawful content if notified, however this is not always the case.
