Electronic Email Signature

An electronic email signature, sometimes referred to as a "signature block," is a block of text that is automatically inserted into the bottom of an email message. An electronic email signature can be customized to include whatever unique information the sender wishes to display. It may include the sender's name, address, phone number, links to websites, or images. Quotations are also popular features of electronic email signatures. A sender may customize their electronic email signature to include their name, followed by a quote from a favorite author or a song lyric or movie quote. An electronic email signature adds a personal touch to an email, and because it is automatically inserted, it can save time. An electronic email signature differs from a digital signature, which is generally encrypted and used for verification purposes, to validate the identity of the sender and the contents of the message. Electronic email signatures can be easily forged, unlike digital signatures.
